AN ORDINARY LIFE

‘An Ordinary Life’ is the exploration of a life that is anything but ordinary. The film follows my grandma, Olive, from the hardships of her early life on the impoverished plains of the Canadian prairies, to her growing up in Guildford, where she remains living with my grandad today. Olive’s extraordinary life has forced her to become a strong and independent character; she attributes this to the adversities she has faced throughout her life and is determined to see this quality passed down through her descendants. Exploring the topics of faith, fragility, kinship, and the acquisition of skill, ‘An Ordinary Life’ displays the importance of compassion, humility, and gratitude for the things in life we all take for granted.
